Peluche

Four employees, too many requests...

How Peluche got clarity on who does what

Peluche and its volunteers support children and teenagers who grow up in shelter homes in the Brussels-Capital Region, not with their families, following a protection measure.

The Challenge

Peluche has called on ToolBox since 2010 whenever a problem cannot be solved with internal skills.

At the end of 2023, its four employees felt they lacked time, tools and reflexes to manage priorities, and were frustrated at having to say no to new requests to support children.

What the ToolBoxers did

Natacha and Laurence met each employee one-on-one, then proposed two actions:

🔸Individual coaching

Coaching for one employee, who identified and customised the tool that helps her manage her tasks.

🔸A half-day team workshop

The team listed every task the organisation needs. Each person marked what she does gladly, neutrally or reluctantly, and where she feels competent or wants to grow. Some tasks could then be redistributed.

The result

The mission was completed. Responsibilities are clearer, and workload, no longer organisation, is now the main constraint.

Peluche will address it with support at a larger scale over three years, with paid consultants funded by the “Impact Together” programme.

In their words

Testimonials from the two ToolBoxers.

The chemistry was instant between the two of us.

Our pairing was very complementary: Laurence brought the management / coaching / facilitation side, and Natacha was able to bring the concrete side of tools that teams can actually use. With Stéphanie there was great mutual respect and a lot of listening. Every person we met was different and enriched the mission. Everyone was incredibly attentive.

ToolBoxers

The organisation and its missions touched me personally, because I am in a sponsor family myself. Building bonds with the children in care therefore speaks to me enormously. And on top of that, the ToolBoxers’ mission suited me well: working on team effectiveness is my thing.

Natacha Louis
ToolBoxer

With her listening, understanding and vision skills, the ToolBox team always finds the right match between a pair of ToolBoxers and the needs of social-profit organisations. This proved true once again in the choice of support for Peluche.
